Grandfaloon

So this is my new blog.  One of my new year's resolutions was to create a blog and write on it regularly.  First off the name is a play on the word "granfalloon" from the book Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut.

Definition: Granfalloon

"A group of people who outwardly choose or claim to have a shared identity or purpose, but whose mutual association is actually meaningless." or "A proud and meaningless association of human beings."


Some examples of this are:

• people who are fans of the same sports team
• people from the same state
• friends on facebook
• etc.

In actuality these people have nothing to do with each other, and I think it is an interesting concept that we see throughout society.
